臺英碳封存與地熱研討會
Taiwan/UK Workshop on Innovations and Implementation of Carbon Capture and Storage and Geothermal Energy Development
我國與英國政府皆立法明訂2050淨零碳排並致力於達成目標。二氧化碳捕捉、再利用與封存(CCUS)技術是可大量減碳的關鍵策略，全球用此技術於2023年已減碳約5千萬噸。碳捕存技術也是實施淨零的最後一哩路，可協助高碳排企業轉型成乾淨與永續的低碳排產業。
地熱能可以用於建築溫度調節與發電的再生能源。我國與英國皆致力於地熱能開發，我國政府近幾年來積極開發地熱發電，頗具成效。「臺英碳封存與地熱研討會」召集英國與我國科學家、研究員、工程師、政府官員等，討論碳捕存與地熱之探勘、開發及最新發展。本研討會創建平台，提供兩國參與人員進行技術交流並期許未來能進行雙方研究合作。敬邀您參與會議，進行雙邊學術與經驗交流。
The UK and Taiwanese governments legislated in law a commitment to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The technology of carbon capture, use, and storage (CCUS) is a key strategy to mitigate carbon emissions significantly, and this technology has helped to abate 50 megatons of global CO2 emission in the year 2023. CCUS is also the last mile of decarbonization as it drives clean and sustainable industry growth and helps them in low-carbon transformation.
Geothermal energy is a renewable resource for heating, cooling, and power generation, and both UK and Taiwanese governments devote significant efforts to developing geothermal power. Geothermal energy has become more prominent in Taiwanese energy planning in recent years.
The ‘Taiwan/UK Workshop on Innovations and Implementation of Carbon Capture and Storage and Geothermal Energy Development’ brings a group of UK scientists and Taiwanese scientists, researchers, engineers, and government officials to discuss the recent development and findings for CCS and geothermal energy for both countries. This workshop is also ideal for future collaborations and innovations for both countries. You are cordially invited to participate in this event and share/exchange your experience/knowledge with other professionals.
